About
Built by an architect, for studios like ours.
MilliCAD began in a working architecture studio, out of a simple wish: complete BIM that is enjoyable, easy to use and affordable.
Most BIM software is built for large offices. It is powerful, but clunky, and it fights you as soon as the work gets detailed. Architectural and interior details turn into workarounds. Ever modelled a table as a floor slab, then given it legs with the column tool?
Then there is the price. The complete tools are expensive, and the affordable ones leave things out. Yet a studio of one to ten people has to deliver the same drawings, schedules and models as a large office, often on an ordinary laptop and for a fraction of the fee.
MilliCAD is BIM for that studio. One model for architecture and interiors, where a table is a table: furniture, joinery and finishes have tools of their own instead of borrowed ones. You draw the way architects draw: click, type a distance, press Enter, with the settings in a side panel rather than a dialog over your work. The model is kept as IFC, so your work stays open, and MilliCAD speaks DWG, so the rest of the industry can read it.
We’re building it with studios in Indonesia and Southeast Asia first. Indonesian boards, finishes and service codes are already in the library, and the area statement checks a plot’s permit metrics.
What we believe
Six rules for the software.
01
No dialogs over the work
Settings live in the side panel. The drawing is always in view.
02
Click, type, Enter
Every tool takes typed values the same way, with no mode to switch.
03
Open by design
The model is IFC. Exchange is not an afterthought.
04
Your files are yours
A project is a file on your disk, with backups beside it. It works offline.
05
Light enough for a laptop
A 50,000-element model opens in under two seconds.
06
Priced for the region
Complete BIM at a price every studio can afford.
Where we are
Alpha, with design partners.
MilliCAD runs on macOS and Windows today. We’re working with a small group of design partners on real projects, and the beta opens after that.
Early access
Draw your next project in MilliCAD.
We’re looking for a few studios in Indonesia and Southeast Asia to shape the beta with us.
